Our Team

Our team of over 50 instructors are all vetted for their teaching experience and subject matter expertise. Our instructors are selected from top-tier universities like Stanford, Harvard, MIT, and UC Berkeley. Our instructors serve as mentors to their students throughout their computer science education. We match students with instructors based on their previous learning experience, personality fit, interests, and availability.

Our Founders


Vivian Shen

Co-Founder

Vivian Shen holds a B.S in Computer Science from Stanford and a minor in Creative Writing. Previously, she was Director of Product at Operator, a software engineer at Google, and a consultant at McKinsey & Company’s Silicon Valley office. She is also a Bay Area native and graduated from Gunn High School in Palo Alto.

Ruby Lee

Co-Founder

Ruby Lee holds an M.S. in Computer Science and a B.S. in Bioengineering from Stanford. Previously, she was an investor and Product Partner at Kleiner Perkins and an Associate Product Manager at Google, where she worked on the Chrome browser and later helped launch Project Fi, Google's wireless carrier service.

Joe Yao

Lead Instructor

Joe Yao is the Lead Instructor at Juni Learning. In addition to teaching his students, Joe finds and interviews many of our instructors from top Computer Science universities across the country.

Daniela Gonzalez

Instructor

Daniela Gonzalez is an instructor at Juni Learning. She is currently pursuing her B.S. in Computer Science at Stanford University and has served as a mentor for the Girls Teaching Girls to Code program. She enjoys hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, painting, and reading.

David Wang

Instructor

David Wang is an instructor at Juni Learning. He holds a MS in Computer Science and a BS in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University. David is currently serving in AmeriCorps in the Minneapolis Public Schools and enjoys competitive swing dancing.

Nazeli Hagen

Instructor

Nazeli Hagen is an instructor at Juni Learning. She is currently pursuing her B.A. in Computer Science at Harvard University. This summer, she traveled to Armenia to teach a two-week Computer Science workshop to local high school students. Nazeli also sings in the Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum.
