Course Description

Algebra 1 sets the foundation of algebra, focusing on working with linear and quadratic equations while building appropriate problem-solving skills (like how to double a recipe). This course is suitable for students who have completed a Pre-Algebra course or equivalent, and after successful completion of Algebra 1, students are prepared to move onto Geometry.

Algebra 1A covers three broad topics: solving linear equations, graphing linear equations, and solving systems of linear equations. The practice problems provided in this course range from fundamentals practice to complex word problems.

I love teaching Algebra 1 because it's so fundamental to complex math down the road.

Given all of its real world applications, I enjoy connecting class concepts to real life examples that are relevant to the student. Having a good experience in Algebra helps students feel more confident when moving onto Linear Algebra and Calculus while also helping students better understand complimentary topics such as Geometry.
